In August 2010, our family moved from Avondale Estates, Georgia to Emily Minnesota, having lost virtually everything we worked for for the last thirty years. Now that we are here, we see what we have gained, and are continuing to gain by total life change. The story of how we got here is an interesting, and painful, one that deserves to be told. It involves:
The creation and destruction of a small residential architecture/building business
The founding of a charter school
The lessons learned from the mistake of working for a celebrity
The peace that can be found by letting go, and
The joy that can only be found in your family
I will endeavor to tell the truth as exactly as I can, not having access to the brains and motives of the other players, and at least I promise you will not be bored. Even if only one person ever reads this, It will be a catharsis for me, who have kept my silence for too long.

Laura, I had no idea. I stumbled upon this site while trying to get a referral from you back in Avondale Estates.
ReplyDeleteSome years ago I lost a cabinet business I had struggled to build over six long years. Along with it, I lost most of what I owned. Just as I began to get my feet back on the ground emotionally, I lost my marriage.
We heal, and the scars slowly fade.
I am glad to hear you are making a new beginning, thankfully with your family intact. I wish it were easier to move forward and not look back, but some things need to be processed. I would love to hear your story, if you still wish to share it.
